These two-piece nuts are easier to install but can endure high vibrations, just like steel-insert locknuts. They are ideal for threaded rods and exceptionally long screws since the two parts spin freely by hand until you tighten them together with a wrench. Their grasp will weaken with repeated use, but you can reuse them a few times. Drake-style locknuts are another name for them.
Once assembled, height includes both nuts.
The majority of machinery and equipment can be fastened with these Grade 5 or Class 8 nuts. Make sure your screw has a similar strength rating to prevent stripped threads during installation.
